Teaching scenario
Plan a classroom that includes remote learners
Connect an in-room lesson and remote participation through a shared board and activities, with a clear plan for communication and access.
Design one shared activity
Start with an activity both groups can complete. Put the question and supporting material in the shared teaching space, and provide the same response opportunity to learners in the room and those joining remotely.
Test the room as well as the software
Check the display, teacher device, microphone, speakers and network using the intended setup. A remote learner should be able to follow both the explanation and the board. Test these conditions before a full class, not during the first lesson.
Make turn-taking explicit
Set a routine for questions, hand raising and discussion. Pause to include remote responses and avoid relying only on students nearest the teacher. Choose a fallback instruction for learners whose connection is interrupted.
Pilot before scaling
Run a short lesson with a small group and document where participants needed help. Use the results to adjust room equipment, instructions and teacher preparation before deciding on wider deployment.
Try it with your own lesson
Bring a lesson and your classroom requirements to a WeClassroom walkthrough.
